Welcome to Mushin Judo

Athlete-Led Judo Experiences for Schools

From weekly school judo programmes in the South West to inspiring athlete visits across the UK, Mushin introduces children to judo through coaching, movement and real athlete stories.

Two Ways to Bring Mushin Judo to Your School

  • Children practicing karate in a gymnasium, with instructors guiding and kids engaging in sparring and playful activities on a black and pink mats.

    Weekly School Judo

Bring structured, accessible judo directly into your school through curriculum sessions, breakfast and after-school judo programmes that help children build confidence, discipline and physical skills.

  • A young female instructor engaging a classroom of students during question time, with students raising their hands to answer. The classroom has posters about judo, wellbeing, and fundraising, and a box of fruits.

    The Mushin School Judo Challenge

An athlete-led school experience inspiring children through judo, fundraising, healthy living and positive wellbeing.

More Than a Sport

Judo helps children build confidence, discipline and resilience while improving balance, coordination and overall physical wellbeing. Through safe, structured activities, pupils learn how to move confidently, manage challenges, show respect and support others.

The benefits extend beyond the mat. Judo can encourage healthier habits, positive wellbeing, teamwork and a stronger belief in what each child can achieve.

Founded by an Olympian. Built for the Next Generation.

Mushin Judo was founded by Paris 2024 Olympian and Three-time British Champion Lele Nairne OLY.

Having experienced both the opportunities and challenges of elite sport, Lele created Mushin to make judo more accessible to children, connect schools with inspiring athletes and build clearer pathways for young people to continue in the sport.

Through school coaching and The Mushin School Judo Challenge, Lele aims to help children develop confidence, discipline, resilience and healthier lifestyles—both on and off the mat.

Continue Your Judo Journey

A child’s first experience of judo should not have to be their last. Mushin helps interested pupils find clear opportunities to continue through weekly school sessions, Mushin venues and trusted local judo clubs.

Children can keep developing their confidence, skills and fitness, work towards recognised gradings and become part of a supportive judo community.
