Continue Your Judo Journey

A child’s first experience of judo should not have to be their last. Mushin helps children and families find welcoming in helps children and families find welcoming opportunities to continue learning, develop their skills and become part of the wider judo community.

From a First Experience to a Lasting Journey

Whether your child discovered judo through a school club, curriculum lesson or The Mushin School Judo Challenge, we want to make their next step clear and accessible.

Children can continue through weekly school sessions, future Mushin programmes and suitable local judo clubs, depending on their age, location and experience.

Ways to Continue Judo

Develop Skills and Celebrate Progress

Continuing judo gives children the opportunity to build on what they have already learned through regular, structured practice.

Children may develop:

  • Safe falling and controlled movement

  • Balance, coordination and fitness

  • Confidence when working with a partner

  • Focus, discipline and resilience

  • Knowledge of introductory judo techniques

  • Progress towards recognised judo grades

Every child’s pathway will look different. Some may simply enjoy being active each week, while others may choose to work towards gradings, events or competitive judo.

Additional Opportunities as Children Progress

As Mushin’s school and community pathway grows, children may also be invited to take part in development sessions, seminars, camps and friendly events designed around participation and enjoyment.

Information about suitable opportunities will be shared directly with registered parents and participating schools.

Has Your Child Enjoyed Judo?

Tell us where your child currently trains, their age and where you are based. We can then help you understand the most appropriate next step.

Helping Schools Connect Children With Judo

Mushin also works with schools, coaches and local clubs to create clearer routes from introductory school judo into regular participation.

Clubs or organisations interested in becoming part of the pathway can contact us to discuss future collaboration.
